Family

My daughter Mia is my entire world and my reason for everything. She is my "why." When I ask myself, "Why did I stay so long?" or "Why did I finally get the courage to leave?" or "Why did all of this happen to me?" She is the reason. It's truly amazing what one person can endure - and accomplish - when they have a good enough reason.

It's just Mia and I now, and despite some lonely times and understanding our life is different than most of the people around us, we are happy. We have a stronger appreciation for each other. We cherish our close bond and all the special moments.

I do have a big, wonderful family - another unique dynamic as a child of divorce. I also have my squad of close, true, beautiful friends. But at the end of each day, it's just the two of us (and our kitties). And that's ok with us!
